Matthew Abrams, Kenneth English, Harrison Simpson and Gladys Johnson were all recently sworn in to serve four-year terms on the Burke County Board of Elections. Jack Brantley, not pictured, is also a board member, and Laverne Sello serves as the executive director.

Burke County EMA report

The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 74 patients’ calls the week ending June 17. Of those, 48 were transported, including 33 to Augusta hospitals and one to another out of county hospital. 23 of the calls were determined to be emergencies and 25 were non-emergent.
