Waynesboro sticks to previous SPLOST projects

The Waynesboro City Council voted unanimously May 16 to allocate the estimated $10,044,000 in SPLOST V funds to the same areas they did for SPLOST IV.

City Manager Valerie Kirkland recommended $3 million directed to water capital improvements, $3 million to sewer capital improvements, $1.5 million to go to storm drain projects, $1 million to road and street improvements, $379,600 to recreation, $500,000 to building improvements and $664,400 to equipment.

The city will submit their specific project lists to the county for their approval near the end of the month.
