Trashed again

A Cates Mead Road landowner is in the dumps after a trailer-load of garbage was illegally unloaded on his property Friday. Among the discards were parts from an above-ground pool, flower pots, plywood, Avon products and unsold items from a yard sale that still bore the price stickers. The dumping was the latest violation in what has been an ongoing problem, the landowner said. Most recently, he was left to deal with a pile of 25 illegally discarded tires. He is offering a reward to anybody who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible. To report a tip, call the Burke County Sheriff’s Office at 706-554-2133 or the landowner at 706-339-8113.
