“The message from our community and your District Attorney’s Office is clear and simple,” Jared T. Williams said in a press release last week. “You mess with kids, you go to prison”

Judge Ashley Wright found former Burke County Associate Magistrate Judge, Alois Hrabowsky, guilty of sexual exploitation of children, criminal solicitation and furnishing tobacco products to minors during a June 9 trial.

A grand jury indicted Hrabowsky in August 2019 on allegations that he persuaded a male child under the age of 16 years old to exhibit his genitals for the purpose of taking a photo and then sending images to Hrabowsky’s phone. On a separate date with another victim under the age of 18, Hrabowsky was accused of purchasing tobacco products for the child.

Judge Wright sentenced Hrabowsky to 15 years in prison and five years of probation.

Hrabovsky, incarcerated since his arrest in 2019, resigned from his post as judge July 12, 2019, after notification of the investigation against him by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Burke County Sheriff’s Office. He was appointed to his judgeship in January 2017.

In another case, it took a jury little over an hour to convict Christopher Shane Lee on three counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of child molestation.

A grand jury indicted Lee in July 2021 on allegations that he engaged in oral and anal intercourse with a male child under the age of 16 years old, inappropriately touching a female child under the age of 16, transmitting photos depicting sexual acts with a prepubescent child.

Judge Daniel Craig sentenced Lee to three consecutive life sentences plus an additional 19 years in prison.
