Swingin’ Medallions to “Save the Lake” Saturday







They will be singing and swinging to help save Jones Lake. At 7 p.m. Saturday, the Swingin’ Medallions will be at the Waynesboro Exchange Club Fairgrounds for a benefit concert to help restore the Waynesboro lake. Gates open at 5 p.m. and tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids under 12. The “Save the Lake” day will kick off with an 8 a.m. “Loop the Lake” 5K run/walk that begins at the Jones Lake public parking lot on South Liberty Street and courses through the Spring Valley and Lake Bluff neighborhoods. Registration is $25 and begins at 7 a.m. For information on either event, go to the “Save the Lake – Waynesboro, GA” facebook page or call (706) 554-9123. Funds raised from both events will be used to treat algae growth and other problems threatening the health of the lake.
