Burke County High School senior Meghan Spencer took top honors in Burke County’s Student Teacher Achievement Recognition program last Thursday night at an awards banquet sponsored by the Waynesboro Jaycees. Spencer named former BCHS band director Kenneth Brown, right, as her STAR teacher. The pair was honored at the banquet along with Edmund Burke Academy’s STAR finalist Ian Glisson and his STAR teacher Brenda Durrence. Spencer will represent the county in the competition for the region title, which will be announced at an event in Thomson later this month.
