Spartans suffer heartbreaking loss



Edmund Burke Academy dropped to 1-2 last Friday following a 28-21 loss to Terrell Academy. Quarterback Eason Waters, who was chosen as the Player of the Game, scored all three Spartan touchdowns, gaining 191 yards on 12 carries. Collier Smith had 49 yards on 9 carries; Trent Harris, 15 yards on 5 carries; and Mason Boswell, 12 yards on 4 carries. The Spartans had a total of 267 yards on 29 carries and recorded 10 first downs on the night. The EBA family was deeply saddened when senior Christopher Cooper, pictured at right, reinjured his shoulder, ending his high school football career just three weeks into the season. On Friday, the Spartans host Robert Toombs Christian Academy. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
