Sally Kate Blackburn, Nathan Mulling and Ashleigh Jaquess placed in top eight at state.
The Edmund Burke Academy track team competed in the state meet April 26-28 in Albany. The Spartans took 11 athletes and three of the 11 finished in the top eight.
Sophomore Sally Kate Blackburn finished seventh in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 18.2 seconds and sixth in the 300-m hurdles with a time of 53.1.
Seniors Nathan Mulling and Ashleigh Jaquess also had notable finishes in their last track meet of their career. Mulling placed fifth in the shot put (42’3”) and Jaquess placed fourth in the high jump (4’8”).
“I am really going to miss the leadership that Nathan and Ashleigh both brought to this team. They always excelled in their events because they worked hard at practice,” commented coach Kasey Land.
