Shooting suspect turns himself in to WPD



An early morning shooting over the weekend had the Waynesboro Police Department looking for Saiah Williams.

The WPD responded Sunday to a call at approximately 4:11 a.m., after a report of shots being fired on the 600 block of Pauline Jenkins Street. Officers made contact with Jocelyn Nelson who was shot four times though her kitchen door. She identified Williams as the shooter. Nelson is hospitalized and in fair condition. The WPD issued warrants on Williams for aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Williams turned himself in without incident, according to Corporal Gary Jenkins Monday. The investigation is pending.
