Relief efforts here to help tornado victims


Local groups are uniting to help the victims of the devastating tornados in Kentucky last weekend.

Edmund Burke Academy, Burke County Young Farmers and Waynesboro First United Methodist Church are raising funds and collecting donations for the effort.. Allie Crockett, BC Young Farmer teacher and EBA parent, issued the following statement:

“The Burke County Young Farmers is partnering with the First United Methodist Church in relief efforts to assist those in Kentucky affected by the tornadoes. All monetary donations should be dropped off in EBA front office or mailed to Waynesboro First Methodist Church, PO Box 420, Waynesboro, GA 30830. PLEASE WRITE “KY tornado relief” IN THE MEMO LINE ON CHECKS OR THE OUTSIDE OF THE ENVELOPE IF YOU DROP OFF CASH. Donations of items will be accepted at EBA until Friday at 10 am. Monetary donations can continue through 12/22/21 but must be mailed to the church after 12/17/21. A trip to deliver items will be made this weekend and there is the possibility that a second trip to Kentucky will be made early next week.”
