Head-turning heifers Burke County 4-H members recently hauled a bushel of ribbons home from the Georgia National Junior Livestock Show. Meridith Franks, above, exhibited heifers that placed first, third fourth and fifth, and went on to claim Reserve Champion in one division. Devin Dixon, below, won Reserve Champion in another division, and collected ribbons for first, third and 10th place. David Mead won second with the heifer he showed, and the livestock team claimed second place in the Herdsman Competition. Franks Farm, owned by Jimmy and Ginny Franks, provide the cattle for the 4-H livestock team to participate each year at regional and state cattle shows. Contributed
