Just six months after announcing plans to build in Waynesboro, a new dealership has opened its doors.
In April, Thomson Chrysler- Dodge-Jeep-Ram-FIAT confirmed the rumors that they were coming to Burke County. Their expansion, Waynesboro Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep- Ram, is a 13,000-square foot building perched on a 7.5-acre lot just north of Waynesboro on U.S. Highway 25. It includes an eight-bay service department with equipment that can service all makes and models of vehicles. The dealership also offers free Wi-Fi, along with a comfortable waiting area with free beverages and snacks and a child-friendly play area.
Beth Grant, one of the owners of the company, said in a previous interview with The True Citizen that customers will have a direct link to them. “We’re there every day at our dealer- ship … That’s what makes us so strong. If we had a family motto it would be, ‘There is no replacement for hard work.’ We can’t wait to serve the Waynesboro area.”
The Grant family opened their original Thomson location in 1992 after selling their Florida based Toyota dealership. They tripled their expected sales numbers in the first three months, Grant said, and within five years moved to their current 8-acre facility on Washington road near I-20 in Thomson.
The Waynesboro business is expected to employ over 50 people.
