Joe & Kay’s One Stop Shop will open Saturday, June 10 at 605 N. Liberty Street.

The variety discount store carries everything from candy to tools. The shelves include books, hardware, clothes, camping equipment and toys. Additionally, the couple offers embroidery, customized ironons and sublimation services. Sublimation transfers are color prints that can be laundered and are dishwasher and microwave safe.

“Everything is very reasonably priced,” Kay said. “I don’t think you can go anywhere else and find it as cheap as we have it.”

Owners Joe and Kay Matthews have lived in Burke County for about 20 years, but previously ran the shop in Millen. The couple closed the Millen shop about a month ago.

“I always wanted to be here because this is where we live,” Kay said of the Waynesboro location. “This is our community.”

The shop’s regular business hours are Monday-Saturday 10a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The grand opening celebration takes place Sat- urday, June 10 at 10 a.m. and includes a free hotdog lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Door prizes will be given out all day.

It is rumored that an antique/ ice cream shop will open soon next door to the Matthews’ shop.
