Mass food distribution set here in February




The CSRA Economic Opportunity Authority Inc. will hold a mass food distribution in Burke County during the month of February.

Distributions will be held in Waynesboro, Wednesday, Feb. 6, at the Burke County Senior Center, 717 West Sixth St.; in Girard, Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Girard Senior Center on Brigham Landing Road; and in Midville, Thursday, Feb. 7, at the Midville Senior Center on Highway 17 North and Kilpatrick Street.

All distributions will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will last until all food is gone.

The distribution is for lowincome and elderly persons and serves a total of 650 families in the county. Each family receives one bag of food which contains fruits, vegetables, canned meats and juices.

The food is distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and those wishing to receive food must bring a picture ID and know their household size (number living in home) and the monthly income for the family.
