The Waynesboro Police Department is searching for Waynesboro resident Jalen Young, 20, after Michaerion Montgomery of Augusta was found in the area of Magnolia Acres with a gunshot wound to his left knee.
WPD officers were dispatched to Magnolia Acres Friday, April 14 in regards to a fight, but before they could arrive shots had been fired. Witnesses confirmed that Young had fled the scene in a white GMC Yukon.
Montgomery told officers Young had first pointed the gun at his head but shot him in the leg instead. Montgomery, 25, was transported to Augusta University Hospital for treatment. Warrants have been issued for Young for aggravated assault, aggravated battery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
