Liquor sales to be decided in Sardis

The Sardis City Council voted May 17 to approve a resolution to authorize a referendum election for the sale of distilled spirits by the package.

The resolution calls for the city’s Elections Superintendent to enact a referendum election in conjunction with the general election on November 8, 2022, for the purpose of allowing voters to decide whether the issuances of licenses for the package of distilled spirits be approved.

The polls in Sardis will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8. Upon passage of the referendum and certification to the Georgia Secretary of State, the City of Sardis will be authorized to issue licenses.
