Kim Johnson Danner reflects on 9/11





 

 

The Waynesboro Optimist Club hosted Burke County native Mrs. Kim Johnson Danner who currently works as Senior Intelligence Professional at Fort Gordon. Mrs. Danner a 20-year active duty naval retiree was stationed at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. She shared her experience and its impact on her life. She is President of CAMP(S) HERO that seeks to garner awareness of Women Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). She hopes to bring attention to the invisible neurological and psychological wounds that affect countless number of women veterans. In October 2017, Mrs. Danner was awarded American Beauties National Women’s Title by the American Beauties National Pageant system. American Beauties Plus and American Beauties National/International are nationally known performance-based pageants that reward women who are active in their communities, families and careers. Mrs. Danner is married and the couple have three children.
