The Municipal General Election for The City of Waynesboro will be held Tuesday, November 7, 2023.
The deadline for voter registration or to change/update an address to be eligible to vote is October 10, 2023. One must also reside within the city limits of Waynesboro to be eligible to vote in this election.
Advance Voting will be conducted October 16, 2023, through November 3, 2023, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday voting will be conducted October 21st and October 28th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Advance Voting will only be conducted at the Burke County Courthouse located at 602 N. Liberty Street, Waynesboro GA 30830.
On Election Day, November 7, 2023, voters must go to their assigned precincts. The Burke County Office Park located at 715 W. 6th Street, Waynesboro, GA 30830 will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Absentee applications will be accepted August 21, 2023, through October 27, 2023. An application must be submitted to receive a ballot by mail. Absentee ballots will be mailed out October 16, 2023, through October 27, 2023.
The computation and canvassing of the election returns will take place at The Burke County Board of Elections Office following the closing of the polls on election day.
The Secretary of State’s office hasn’t released a calendar with specific information regarding qualifying for next year’s elections, including the race for Burke County Sheriff. However, the primary election is May 21, 2024. In the meantime, anyone who wants to officially campaign and collect donations needs to file a Declaration of Intention (DOI).
