Waynesboro, GA – Sidney Joseph Prescott “Jody”, 62, husband of Melinda Blanchard Prescott, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 31, 2023.
Funeral services were held from the First Baptist Church of Waynesboro on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at 2:00 o’clock, with Dr. Al Wright, Pastor Jerry Price, and David Boggs officiating. Interment followed at Burke Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends on Monday, June 5, from 5:00 o’clock to 7:00 o’clock, at the funeral home.
Mr. Prescott, son of the late Wilbur Lamar Prescott and Elsie Marie Sapp Prescott, was born in Augusta, GA. Jody was a self-employed Rancher, a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, and board member of Farm Bureau.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lamar Prescott, Jr.
In addition to his wife, Jody is survived by his children, Robert Hammond Lamar Prescott (Katie), Sidney C. Prescott, Jacqueline Naomi Prescott (Preston Price), and Nancy Grace Prescott; his God sent mother, Mary Ella Logan.
Pallbearers were Clifford Lewis, Mike Hillis, Larry Lewis, Wendell Bolton, Lee Webster. and Mark McClain.
Honorary pallbearers were John Barrow, Jim Overstreet Judge Carlisle Overstreet, Kevin Cobb, Shorty Edenfield, Mike Chandler, Daniel Cates, Sheriff Alfonzo Williams, Dr. Bruce Gradous, Stacy Hermann, Jack Bass, Joe Bass, Ken English, Henry Glisson, David Raley, Tim Gradous, Ivan Heatwole, and Bert Sullivan.
