HOMECOMING GAME

Bears to battle the Razorbacks

The Burke County Bears (4-1) will play the Cross Creek Razorbacks (4-2) in the Bear Den this Friday night.

The match-up will be their first region game of the season and falls on homecoming night.

The Bears have defeated Cross Creek for the past six matches between 2005 and 2013, averaging 56 points per game.

Head Coach Eric Parker is looking for a win, but is not expecting the Razorbacks of years past.

“They are a lot better football team than we last played in 2013.” Coach Parker said “They are pretty good athletes doing a good job; looks they are playing with a lot of confidence.”

Two weeks ago, Cross Creek defeated Hephzibah, 49-13, and pulled themselves into top position.

Coach Parker believes if the Bears continue to practice hard and condition themselves, they should do well on Friday.

“The Razorbacks are 4-2 right now and after beating Hephzibah they stepped to first place in the 3-AAAA region,” he said. “We just need to take care of ourselves and I think everything else will be okay.”
