Chief Warrant Officer Five Ronnie Haynes, a 1990 graduate of Burke County Comprehensive High School, is retiring after thirty years of service in the United States Army. Haynes entered the army in August 1990 as an Administrative Specialist. He attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. He was appointed a Warrant Officer in the Army in July 2003.

CWO Haynes has had various assignments abroad and stateside in The Netherlands, Korea, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, Fort Hood, Texas, Fort Jackson, S.C., Fort Gordon, Ga., and Washington, D.C. Chief Warrant Officer Five Ronnie Haynes deployed to Bosnia in 1996 and twice to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, 2004-2005 and 2009-2010. He concluded his career at the Pentagon as a Headquarters Department of the Army Policy Integrator. Chief Haynes is part of an elite group of about 550 in the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five and 1 of 15 within his specialty.

He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Combat Action Badge and numerous other awards throughout his career.

Haynes earned his Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from National-Louis University and holds a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management from TUI University. He is married to Major Naquita L. Haynes of Lincolnton, Ga. They have one son, Christopher and two daughters, Layla and Mya.

His future plans are for a start-up business (Consulting and Real Estate) and investing more time in community youth.
