Hands-On Learning in the Area of Agriculture Processing and Marketing

 

Mrs. Katie Burch’s Basic Agriculture classes discussed Agriculture and Human Needs and identified the Top 10 Commodities of Georgia and their economic value. One of those top commodities is peanuts. Georgia is the number one producer in the nation, producing over 50% of the peanuts consumed. Students learned to make their own peanut butter and also the importance of marketing strategies as they created their own marketing plan and “sold” their peanut butter to the class.
