Hands-on experience

Fries Frozen Foods allowed Burke County High School FFA students to be a part of the fabrication process of their livestock projects. These FFA members, Abby Joyner, Michael Maruca, and Christopher Stewart are also members of the Meats Evaluation Career Development Team. The purpose of this event is to help students develop employment skills in the meat industry, expand their knowledge in meat animal marketing and merchandising, develop broader analytical skills and critical thinking, and develop an understanding of appropriate meat terminology. This event also helps develop the ability to identify meat animal products in order to optimize economic returns to producers and industry as well as meet the needs of the consumer.
