EBA golf team has a busy, good week



The Edmund Burke Academy Golf Team has been busy the past week. The Linksters played in Burke County High School’s Taylor Made Tournament. EBA entered two teams and fared well.

They shot 345 and 375, with freshman Owen Redd as low man with a 79. Marc Owen Chancey had 83, Garrett Jenkins 84, Wyatt Carey 89, Mark Wasden 90, Evan Hischauer 93, Parker Oliver 99, and Luke Timms 106.

The Spartan golfers traveled to Statesboro to play Bulloch at Forest Heights. Garrett Jenkins lead EBA with a 90 On Thursday they hosted Briarwood and shot the low round of the year with a 336. Low man was Garrett Jenkins with a 78.

During his round Jenkins had a hole in one on number 11, “It was nice because his family was there to see it,” said Coach Larry Keller “It was his dad’s birthday and it made for a great day”.

Senior Evan Hirschauer had a career low 85, Carey an 86 and 8th grader Del Wade James shot 87. “We are young with four out of six golfers in 8th and 9th grade” said Keller. He added that the Spartans hope to continue playing well right up to the Region Tournament April 12 at Twin City Country Club.
