The Burke County Senior Center has a new grant funded computer lab thanks to the Mom and Dad foundation. The center began their first 6-week computer class for seniors with four students. The instruction focuses on computer basics like turning the computer on and off, how to set up, receive and send emails, how to search the web safely and how to type using a typing program. The students also learned the correct names of the parts of the computer. At the end of the six weeks the seniors were given a final exam. (l to r) Annie Stephens, Betty Walker, Clara Turner and Susie Scott completed the Senior Center’s first 6-week computer class.
