The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 108 patients’ calls during the week ending Nov. 6. Of those, 80 resulted in transports, including 48 to Augusta hospitals and three to other out-of-county hospitals. Forty four of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 36 were non-emergent.
The agency also answered 21 fire calls during the week. They included one false alarm, two fire/smoke alarms, one outside trash/waste or dumpster fire, three public service calls, nine rescues, one vehicle fire, one woods fire and three unspecified calls.
