The Burke County Emergency Management Agency answered 94 patients’ calls during the week ending June 12. Of those, 68 resulted in transports, including 44 to Augusta hospitals. Thirty three of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 35 were non-emergent.
The agency also responded to 23 fire calls during the week. They included two brush/grass fire, one fire/smoke alarm, two false alarms, one smoke scare, nine rescues, one outside equipment fire, five public service calls and two unspecified calls.
