The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 110 patients’ calls during the week ending May 29. Of those, 76 resulted in transports, including 51 to Augusta hospitals and three to other out-of-county hospitals. Forty eight of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 28 were non-emergent.
The agency also answered 32 fire calls during the week. They included 15 trees down, seven rescues, two motor vehicle accident rescues, one structure fire, one power line down, two outside equipment fires, two public service calls and two unspecified calls.
