The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 104 patients’ calls during the week ending May 1. Of those, 66 resulted in transports, including 27 to Augusta hospitals and one to another out-of-county hospital. Twenty five of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 41 were non-emergent,
The agency also answered 28 fire calls during the week. They included seven brush/grass fires, one controlled burn, 12 rescues, one structure fire, three woods fires, one power line down and three unspecified calls.
