The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 122 patients’ calls during the week ending March 20. Of those, 83 resulted in transports, including 48 to Augusta hospitals and two to other out-of-county hospitals. Forty of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 43 were non-emergent.

The agency also answered 20 fire calls during the week. They included two brush/grass fires, two false alarms, three woods fires, eight rescues, one MVA rescue, one public service call and three unspecified calls.
