The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 118 patients’ calls during the week ending Feb. 27. Of those, 78 resulted in transports, including 44 to Augusta hospitals and three to other out-of county hospitals. Thirty four of the transports were determined to be emergencies and 44 were non-emergent.
The agency also answered 22 fire calls during the week. They included two brush/grass fires, one fire/smoke alarm. One outside trash or dumpster fire, eight recues, one structure fire, four woods fires, two vehicle fires, two public service calls and one unspecified call.
