The Burke County Emergency Management Agency responded to 97 patients’ calls the week ending Sept. 9. Sixty-five of the calls resulted in transports, including 38 to Augusta hospitals and one to another out of county hospital. Twenty-nine of the calls were determined to be emergencies and 36 were non-emergent.
The agency also answered 15 fire calls during the week. They included nine rescues, one public service call, one structure fire, two woods fires and two unspecified calls.
