Brewton-Parker announces Baron Ace Scholarship

In an effort to address the growing concerns about college affordability, Brewton-Parker College is offering the Baron Ace Scholarship to academically qualified freshmen and transfer students enrolling in the fall of 2012.

The scholarship provides students with the opportunity to earn $30,000 in scholarship money over a four-year period. Scholarship selection is competitive based on community and church involvement.

For freshmen, the minimum criteria for consideration are scores of 450 for both the math and verbal portions of the SAT and a 3.25 high school GPA at the time of application. Minimum scores of 20 for both the English and math portions of the ACT are acceptable.

For transfers, the minimum criteria for consideration is a 3.5 transfer GPA or Phi Theta Kappa membership.

Both freshmen and transfers are required to maintain a 3.0 GPA and to participate in one of the following Baron Choice Clubs: Baron Student Ambassadors, Baron Choir, Glimpses of Truth, Baron Spirit Squad, Baron Hot Peppers or Baron Tutors.

This scholarship will supplement any federal and state money the student may be eligible to receive or any other Brewton-Parker scholarship he or she may be offered.
