Cindy Blackstone, special education teacher at Waynesboro Primary School, recently received WJBF’s Golden Apple Award out of 300 nominees. Representatives from WJBF and CSRA Federal Credit Union came to WPS to present the award to Blackstone in front of her students. “(Our school) is very fortunate to have someone like Cindy Blackstone,” WPS principal Tommy Mitchell said. “She represents the highest ideals of teaching and richly deserves the recognition and accolades for excellence, enthusiasm and the genuine concern she has for each one of her students. We are blessed and honored to have her as a part of our family at Waynesboro Primary School.” Pictured, Mitchell presents Blackstone with the Golden Apple.
