Marshall Flowers pitching last Tuesday at home in the 12-2 win

Marshall Flowers was the winning pitcher for Burke County Varsity Baseball Bears in a 12-2 blowout over Cross Creek Tuesday, March 1. The hurler surrendered zero runs on zero hits over four innings, striking out seven and walking none. Myles Heatwole and Jahkari Howard entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Malachi Rodriguez took the loss for Cross Creek. The pitcher lasted three and twothirds innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out four.

Burke County’s Varsity Bears had 11 hits in the game. Dylan Dixon, Heatwole, Flowers, and Howard all had multiple hits. Howard, Flowers, Heatwole, and Dixon each collected two hits to lead the Bears. Burke County was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Brice Marchman made the most plays with nine.
