BCHS golf teams come up short in recent matches

Wednesday, April 13th both the Bears and Lady Bears competed in a golf match at the Waynesboro Country Club.

“After having a week off for spring break,” Coach Knight said, “both teams are trying to get back on track and prepare for the Area Tournament the first week in May.” Coach Knight’s main concern is that this tournament allows both teams to continue to get better along the way. After the Area Tournament, the next major milestone for BCHS gold will be the State tournament that will be held in mid-May.

Last Wednesday, Vidalia, the Augusta Eagles, Lakeside and Burke County participated in a 9-hole match .The Augusta Eagles boys won in their division and the Lakeside Girls team won in theirs

The Bears competed well with Elijah Price leading the way with a 44. Closely following Elijah was his brother Caleb who shot a 45. Other boys scores were: Dale Fulcher 46, Chris Davis 46, Sam Kyzer 47, Parker Petitt 54, and Joshua Godbee 52.

For the girls in this tournament, Alli Osborn led the Lady Bears with a 58 and Mallorie McCafferty shot a 62.
