BCHS basketball star signs with EGSC

Burke County High School senior Kobe Brown signed on to play basketball with East Georgia State College in Swainsboro. Brown led the Bears this season with 5.6 assists per game and 2.3 steals per game while simultaneously posting impressive numbers in other categories. While at East Georgia, Brown plans to major in Biology. According to him, he is one of the first from his neighborhood to attend college, and he wants to show those coming up after him that anything is possible if you put in hard work and chase your dreams.

Brown was all smiles when speaking about this once in a lifetime opportunity that many high school players wish for. When asked why he chose East Georgia State College, he said that East Georgia appealed to him because of its proximity to home as well as the fact that they had dormitories on campus. He wants an immersive college experience. Brown also felt a connection to the coaches there and thought that the gym they had on site was impressive. What Brown looks forward to the most when attending East Georgia is simply having fun on the court. He realizes and understands that not everyone receives the opportunity to play the game they love at the next level, and he is not going to take it for granted.
