The Burke County 4-H Shotgun Team competed at the district qualifying match on April 23, 2022 at Bay Gall Shooting Range.
This year’s team members include: Brooke Allen, Jiles Coble, Sydney Coble, Chase Cook, Leland Flakes, Charlotte Huddleston, Sam Kyzer, Colton Miller, Asa Murray, Aiden Olver, Cameron Quick, Walker Quick, Erin Rivers, Jayden Seutter, Zia Wike, and Mallery Wyrick.
Students had to qualify at the area contest to attend the state competition in Eatonton. Juniors were required to hit 16/20 clays and seniors 20/25 clays. We had four students qualify from the area match to the state match held on May 7 at the Eatonton Beef Center: Jiles Coble, Sam Kyzer, Walker Quick, and Leland Flakes. The students practiced weekly for months this spring to prepare for the competitions. A huge thank you to Sam Kyzer, Anne Marie Kyzer, and James Coble for volunteering their time to coach our team.
