Big week after break for Spartans

DIANA ROYAL

While Edmund Burke’s Spartan baseball team gets a break from games this week, it’s back to business first thing Monday afternoon.

The boys finished up last week with a 20-0 win over Monsignor Donovan to kick off their spring break, but a rainout from Tuesday’s region matchup against Brentwood means they’ll have to squeeze that one in before the regular season ends.

On Monday, April 15, the Spartans play a non-region game against Pinewood at home and follow it up with three region contests: Tuesday, April 16, against Thomas Jefferson Academy (at home); Wednesday, April 17, against Gatewood (in Eatonton); and Monday, April 22, against Briarwood (at home). All games are schedule for 4:30 p.m.

Head coach Jonathan Broxton said he was proud of his younger players in the win over Mon Don on Wednesday and that each one of them stepped up and contributed to the victory.

Edmund Burke currently boasts a 9-2 season record and remains undefeated in Region 4-AA.
