Lenten Services

The Burke Black Churches Benevolent Association will observe the 40-day Lenten season with 7 p.m. services weekly, beginning on Ash Wednesday. Each service is hosted by a different church and led by a guest pastor from another.

March 13: Neely Grove Christian Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Darryl Burns of Williams Grove Baptist Church.

March 20: Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William McFarlan of Neely Grove C.M.E.

March 27: Metropolitan Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Jordan f Bark Camp Baptist Church.

April 3: Thomas Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Perry Medley of Haven-Munnerlyn United Methodist.

April 10: Haven Munnerlyn United Methodist Church with the Willie Evans of Portersville and Givens Grove Baptist churches.

April 17: Thankful Baptist Church (Waynesboro) with the Rev. Lorenzo Heggs of Raise Bridge

Easter Sunday, Apr. 21 – 7 a.m.: Watkinsville Baptist Church with Dr. Alfred Cason of Watkinsville Baptist Church. The public is invited.

Spring Revival

Springhill Baptist Church continues its annual spring revival through March 14, with nightly services at 7 p.m. The Rev. Les Howard of Macedonia Baptist Church in Shelby, N.C., will be revivalist for the week. All churches, choirs and ushers are invited to attend on any night. The Rev. Willie L. Mincey is pastor.

Spring Revival

Phillip Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual spring revival each Wednesday during the month of March. Services are 7 p.m. each Wednesday. Special guests are the Rev. Ellis Godbee and Spirit Creek Baptist Church, March 13; the Rev. Edgar Slaughter and Rauch Ministries, March 20; and the Rev. Coy Henderson and Popular Spring Baptist Church, March 27. Revival Services

The Waynesboro Deliverance Evangelistic Church continues its revival services through March 15, at 7:30 nightly. The guest minister will be Bob Bell of Victory Deliverance Church of Macon. The public is invited.

Pastor Appreciation

Endtime Faith Deliverance Church will hold appreciation services for its Pastor and First Lady, Clyde Sr. and Theodosha Foreman through March 15, at 7:30 nightly, and Sunday, March 17, at 3 p.m., with guest speakers for each service. The public is invited and dinner will be served on March 17.

McElmurray Spring Branch Baptist Church continues its spring revival services through March 14, at 7 nightly. The Rev. Willie Givens, pastor of One In Christ Baptist Church of Girard, will be guest revivalist. The public is invited.

Blount Chapel Baptist Church, 684 Blount Chapel Road, near Vidette, will hold its Family and Friends program 6 p.m. March 16. The Rev. Bobby Williams, Sr., pastor of Peel Grove and Union Bethel Baptist churches will be in charge of service. The public is invited.

St. John Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day at 4 p.m. March 16. The Rev. Clary Dishmond pastor of Thompson Bridge and Third Chapel Baptist churches will be the guest speaker. The public is invited.

Women’s Day Program

One In Christ Baptist Church, 10345 River Road, Girard, will hold its annual Women’s Day program 4 p.m. March 16. The Rev. Willie Givens invites the public.

50 States Rally

Second Bynes Grove Baptist Church will hold its 50 States Rally 4 p.m. March 16. Worship leader will be Gladys Johnson of Forrest Hill Baptist Church.

Annual Family and Friends Day

Roberson Grove Baptist Church will hold its annual Family and Friends Day 5 p.m. Saturday, March 16. The Rev. Clyde Fowler, pastor of William Grove Holiness Church, Swainsboro, will be guest speaker. The Voices United will be guest choir. Nehemiah Dishmond, church pastor, invites the public.

Men of Honor Family Event

Sardis Baptist Church invites everyone to our 5th annual Men of Honor event, Saturday, March 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Padgett’s Farm, 1700 Hwy 23 S., Waynesboro, Georgia. Just follow the signs. There will be archery contests, horseshoes, cornhole games, and a fishing tournament for kids with cash prizes. There will be door prizes with two Grand Prizes: a guided wild hog or turkey hunt on Wade Plantation and a guided hog hunt with Jesse Perry and the Catahooligans. Guest speakers will be Sherriff Alfonso Williams and Game Warden Jeff Billups. A barbeque meal will be provided, all free of charge. So, parents, bring your fishing poles, we’ll supply the bait, and a good time will be enjoyed by all. Spring Revival

Thomas Grove Missionary Baptist Church will hold annual spring revival services April 8-12, at 7 nightly. Guest speakers will be the Rev. Jimmy McCullough III and the Ways Grove Baptist Church family of Stellaville. The Rev. Willie B. Tomlin and the church family invites the public.

Tent Revival/Pig Pickin

East Burke Baptist Church, 6564 Highway 24 South, Sardis, GA, will host a three-day old-fashioned, Christian all-night singing and tent revival on its grounds Friday-Sunday, April 12-14. The all-night event, with more than 20 groups and individuals performing, will be held from 7 p.m. Friday night until dawn Saturday morning. A regional talent competition will be held 2-5 p.m., Saturday. Christian-themed entertainment including singers, poets, plays, or even comedians are invited to compete. A “Pig-Pickin” pit-cooked BBQ coincide 4-6 p.m., Saturday. Afterward, featured singing with invited talent begins at 6 p.m. All seats are free and a love offering will be received both nights. Also, light refreshments will be provided at no cost both nights. Sunday morning service “under the tent” message, 11 a.m., April 14 will be delivered by Jordan Clayton and other Christian leaders. The public is invited.
