Kings of the grill

Slowly Butt Smokin’ (pictured above) once again found themselves in the winners’ circle after taking the trophy in the Racks by the Tracks rib cook-off during the annual Farm Fest held Saturday. This marks the team’s fifth win, having previously earned the title in 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017. Second place went to Buckhead Creek BBQ and rounding out the top three was Big J & The Butts. In chicken, the Lip Smackin’ Oinkers (pictured below) were champion, followed by Leebo Cooking from the Heart (second place) and Big G’s Mountain Time BBQ (third place). Event organizer and Shriner Jody Ellison said that winners gave back $1,000 in prize money to donate to the Shriners Hospital for Children. Planters EMC’s team also donated all their profits from sales for the day.
