SATURDAY, SEPT. 1

Waynesboro Toastmasters will meet at 10 a.m. at 841 Jones Avenue. We continue to utilize the Pathways learning experience to develop communication and leadership skills. Visit the international website at www.toastmasters.org and follow club 5901 on Facebook. Open to the community.

MACEC will celebrate its ninth anniversary with a yard sale from 5 to 7 p.m. at Magnolia Gardens on the corner of Eighth Street and MLK Drive. Refreshments include hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, baked beans and salad, and there will be games and activities. The Waynesboro Fire Department will be there with water activities. TUESDAY, SEPT. 4

First Tuesday at Liberty community fellowship at Liberty Market, 107 E. 7th Street, will meet from noon-1 p.m. Pastor Michael Hamrick will preach and together we will enjoy a complimentary lunch along with singing and prayer. “Sewing with Jennifer” at the Burke County Library Auditorium will be held 10 a.m.-noon. Class is free. Bring current and new projects along with sewing machine. Don’t know how to use your machine? We’ll teach you. An additional class will also be held Tuesday, Sept. 18, at the same time and place.

THURSDAY, SEPT. 6

Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet at 3 p.m. at the Burke County Senior Citizens Center.
