BEHAVIORAL HEALTH AND SUBSTANCE ABUSE SERVICES

The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia, Ogeechee Division, located at 292 W. 4th St., Waynesboro, is now offering open access for behavioral health and substance abuse services on every Tuesday and Thursday. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 11:30 a.m. A picture ID and insurance card are required. The hope is to remove barriers to those in the community seeking innovative behavioral healthcare.

THURSDAY, APRIL 12

The Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet at 3 p.m. at Burke County Senior Center. Guest will be Katherine Lloyd of Burke County Board of Education.

The Georgia Department of Transportation invites citizens to review plans for the upcoming State Route 23 bridge replacements over Brier Creek and Breir Creek Overflow. The meeting will take place at the Sardis Annex Building, 1209 Ellison Bridge Road, in Sardis, from 4-6 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 18

Free diabetic teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone who helps with food preparation. Please enter through Emergency Room waiting area. FRIDAY, APRIL 27

The Burke County Master Gardeners will hold the 17th annual plant sale with a variety of plant and flower species of interest to growers of many kinds of gardens. The sale will take place at the Southern Bank Pavilion from 3-6 p.m., rain or shine.
