What's Next?


The Community Service Board of Middle Georgia, Ogeechee Division, located at 292 W. 4th St., Waynesboro, is now offering open access for behavioral health and substance abuse services on every Tuesday and Thursday. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. A picture ID and insurance card are required. The hope is to remove barriers to those in the community seeking innovative behavioral healthcare.


The Burke County Public Library will hold an Easter egg hunt on Friday, March 23, beginning at 3 p.m. Everyone will meet in the auditorium at 2:30. The hunt is open to children through the age of 10, and they should bring their baskets. Whoever finds the two golden eggs will win an Easter basket prize.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office will hold its second annual Easter Egg Eggstravaganza Saturday, March 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Jonathan Broxton Park. Call Lt. Tommie Walker or Lt. Willie Burley at the sheriff’s office at 706.554.2133 if you are interested in being a sponsor. They are in need of various items from plastic eggs to food supplies.

The City of Sardis Community Easter Eggstravaganza will be held Saturday, March 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the old S.G.A. school building. Activities include an egg/spoon race, sack relay-bunny hop, coloring contest, face painting, photo booth and cake walk. The event is for children 12 and under. Don’t forget your baskets! From noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, the 25 Men of Burke County will hold its 23rd annual Easter egg hunt at Veterans Community Center (formerly Davis Park) in Waynesboro.


The Waynesboro Toastmasters will meet at 5 p.m. at 841 Jones Ave. Scheduled speakers include Mitzi Schawo and Brenda Jones. In this learn-bydoing environment, members are encouraged to further develop leadership and communications skills which can build confidence. More information is available at toastmasters.org.
