What's Next?

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 6

Free diabetic teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone who helps with food preparation. Please enter through Emergency Room waiting area. Space is limited, and pre-registration is encouraged. Call 706.554.4435.

SUNDAY, DEC. 10

Waynesboro Toastmasters will meet 5 p.m. at 841 Jones Avenue. The last meeting of the year will feature a Speecha thon with several competent speakers. There will be holiday fun and refreshments. For more information, see visit the website at d14toastmasters.org.

MOVIES AT THE LIBRARY

The Burke County Public Library will hold double features next week. On Monday, Dec. 11, a viewing of the Paw Patrol’s

Pups Save Christmas” will be held 1:30-2:30 p.m., and on Wednesday, Dec. 13, “All I Want for Christmas is You” will play from 3:30-5 p.m. The public is invited to grab a blanket and pillow and enjoy the fun. Popcorn will be served.

WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20

All Burke County children from birth through age 12 are invited to the Burke County Sheriff's Office between 4-6:30 p.m. to meet Santa Claus. Each child will receive a gift (toy or stuffed animal). The BCSO is also accepting Walmart giftcards for its upcoming Shop with a Cop event on Dec. 21. Giftcards should be dropped off at the sheriff's office.
