Turkey Talk!

True Citizen seeks recipes from mini chefs

It’s time to talk turkey … and mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and all those other side dishes and desserts that complete the tastiest of Thanksgiving feasts.

The True Citizen is now collecting recipes from Burke County’s youngest cooks.

Children in first grade and younger are invited to submit their own instructions for preparing their favorite holiday foods for our annual “Let’s Talk Turkey” special.

The most entertaining entries will be published in our Nov. 22 Thanksgiving edition.

Recipes should be in the children’s own words, containing stepby step instructions on how to make anything, from traditional menu items to unique creations sure to satisfy the belly. They may be handwritten or typed by the child or dictated to a parent or teacher. Entries should also include the child’s name and age, as well as his/her teacher and school, if applicable.

Submissions are due by noon on Thursday Nov. 16, and may be emailed to truecitizennews@live.com or dropped off at The True Citizen office located at 629 Shadrack St. in Waynesboro.
