What's Next?


The Burke County Public Library will have Storytime for all preschool children every Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Area. There will be a different theme every week.


The Burke County Farm-To- School Program will hold its weekly Farmers Market 4-6 p.m. at the Southern Bank Pavilion located on 855 Liberty St., Waynesboro. Now accepting EBT payments.


Enterprise Community Healthy Start Community Collaborative will hold a meeting 9-11 a.m. at the Burke County Public Library. Discussion will focus on the importance of investing in each other to have a greater impact in paving the future for children in Burke County. Please invite family and friends to attend. Amerigroup Community Care and Henry Brigham Community Center will hold a Style Tour 5-7 p.m. Free uniform shirts and socks will be available as well as other back to school supplies (while they last). There will also be health screenings, prizes, face painting, snacks and more. An Amerigroup Community Care representative will be present to answer questions about member benefits and services. Adults must accompany children. The Henry Brigham Community Center is located at 2463 Golden Camp Road in Augusta.


The Waynesboro Optimist Club will hold its annual yard sale from 7 a.m. until at the Southern Bank’s Liberty Street Pavilion. Articles will include clothing, household items, toys, and sundry items. Receipts will support the Optimist Club’s Scholarship Fund.


The Burke County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet 6 p.m. at the Burke County Library. Missy and George Elder will speak about two new books, Pine Log Echoes and the History of Emanuel County Railroads. Everyone is welcome.


Free diabetic teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone who helps with food preparation. Please enter through Emergency Room waiting area. Space is limited, and pre-registration is encouraged. Call 706-554- 4435.
