Carole L. Cooper

Carole L. Cooper of Waynesboro, 91, wife of the late John Thomas Cooper Sr., went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Aug. 7, 2017.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Aug. 11, at 11 a.m. from Magnolia Cemetery, 703 W. 6th St, Waynesboro, with Dr. G. Al Wright and Greg Coursey officiating.

Family and friends are requested to assemble at the graveside.

Mrs. Cooper, daughter of the late Richard Henry and Maggie Mae Deason Quick, was born in Jenkins County and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro for 60 years and a member of the Joy Sunday School class until it merged with the Spares and Pairs Sunday School Class. She was a strong Southern, soft-spoken and gentle lady who will be missed.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Tommy Cooper and Wayne Cooper; and by her grandson, Jerry Jenkins Jr.

She is survived by her son, David Y. Cooper Sr. of Waynesboro; her daughters, Linda C. Jenkins (Jerry) of Waynesboro and Shelia C. Long (Donnie) of Hephzibah; her daughtersin law, Martha Cooper of Waynesboro and Sherlee Cooper of Millen; her sister, Mamie Q. Thomas (Hardy) of Lyons; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.

Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Linda Jenkins. The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
