Waynesboro Toastmasters will meet. 5 p.m., at 841 Jones Avenue. New member fees are waived, and meetings focus on better thinking, listening and speaking with emphasis on improving English language skills. For more information on the international organization, visit www.toastmasters.org.

TUESDAY, OCT. 13

Burke County Middle School’s Annual Title I Parent Meeting will be held, 8:30 a.m., for the purpose of providing an overview of Title I services available to students and parents. Attendance of parents/guardians is requested in order to become more knowledgeable of the Title I Programs as well as the resources available to improve the academic success of your child.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 12

The Burke County Genealogical and Historical Society will meet, 6:30 p.m. at the Burke County Library. The topic will be the CCC and POW camps in Waynesboro in the 1930s and 1940s.

THURSDAY, OCT. 16

SGA’s Annual Title I Parent Meeting will be held, 5 p.m., for the purpose of providing an overview of Title I services available to students and parents. A second meeting will be held, 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20. Attendance of parents/guardians is requested at one of the two meetings in order to become more knowledgeable of the Title I Programs as well as the resources available to improve the academic success of your child.
