WEDNESDAY, OCT. 29

Free Diabetic Teaching will be offered in the Burke Medical Center classroom, 6-8 p.m. The course is designed to help diabetics learn how to better control their diabetes through healthy eating. Participants should eat before they come and are encouraged to bring along their partners or anyone who helps with food preparation. Space is limited and preregistration is encouraged. THURSDAY, OCT. 30

Burke County High School's Band will host a Spirit Festival at the Southern Bank Pavilion on North Liberty Street, 5-7 p.m. (after the BCHS homecoming parade). The event will feature crafts, games, bounce houses and more.

TUESDAY, NOV. 4

The Waynesboro Lions Club will meet, 5:30 p.m. at the Lakeview Restaurant. All members and those interested in joining are encouraged to attend.

THURSDAY, NOV. 6

The Burke County Retired Educators Association will meet, 3 p.m., at the Burke County Senior Citizens Center. A Health & Wellness presentation will be given by nurses Christine D. Jones and Loretta Gibson.

TUESDAY, NOV. 11

Veterans will be honored, 2 p.m., at a special program in the J.D. Smith Auditorium at Burke County High School. The program is presented by the BCHS Fine Arts Department and JROTC. All veterans and community members are invited.
